The area of former and current mining on the outskirts of Brno is gradually transformed into a wild park that preserves the geological history of the place. The dynamic terrain of the hills and the preserved mining fragments create unique views of the city and the mining landscape. New trails, meadows and water areas offer space for relaxation, exploration and sports. Space is created for people and nature. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The park is a symbiosis of mining history and nature. The post-industrial landscape transformed into a park connects the mining past with living nature. A 40-metre high sandstone wall in the southern part of the park recalls the geological and industrial heritage of the site. The hilly relief created by the weighing of the material offers views over the wooded slopes as well as views of the Brno skyline. <\/p>

Rare habitats that have been created during the long period of mining are preserved. Conditions for their development are created, but also conditions for the creation of new biotopes. The park is connected to the landscape structures. The restoration of parts of the areas, as well as their maintenance, is carried out in ways close to nature, such as regulated succession or grazing of herbivores. <\/p>

The wildlife in the heart of the city is a destination for birdwatching, including rare wetlands and waders, and a haven for amphibians or mammals. The vast meadows serve as pastures for horses, turas or goats, while a network of paths, cycle tracks and in-line tracks allow for active exploration of the terrain. The northern part of the park hosts a caf\u00e9 with refreshments and a small sports complex, while children’s playgrounds and nature-style workout zones encourage leisure activities for younger visitors. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The natural habitats were created by capturing rainwater from the surrounding areas, the new pond and wetlands not only naturally improve the microclimate but also retain rainfall for a variety of species. A community garden with a clubhouse is located in the eastern part of the property, where vegetables, fruit and chickens are grown. In the southern part, a wooden walkway leads ornithologists to quiet corners for observation and meditation. Inspiration from history can also be found in the furnishings and small architecture, where raw materials contrast with the original fragments of logging. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
